I create life story films for families – a precious keepsake for future generations. The core of each film is a sensitively conducted interview, edited with family photographs, archive, music and footage
In 2018 I collected and shared hundreds of stories of people’s lived experiences as part of the South Gloucestershire Second World War Stories Project. This included making ten short films.
In 2020 Gloucester History Festival went online. I created a series of short films around the cathedral and city centre with British Sign Language presenter, Olivier Jamin.
Community groups and charities have a story to tell. A well made video is a compelling way to get that message across. I’ve worked on films about climate action projects, food poverty, growing food, mental wellbeing, church groups, dance classes, and more….
My background is in broadcast documentaries, educational, community and heritage films. I work sensitively to reach the essence of the story. I am an experienced interviewer, researcher, recordist, editor and director.
I have my own filming and editing kit, meaning that I can keep costs down to make simple films which are accessible and affordable. I can also bring in professional colleagues if the project requires it.
I have an MA in Creative Writing for Children and Young People. I’ve worked as a teacher in a women’s prison, facilitated community groups and was the Story Project Worker on the South Gloucestershire Second World War Stories Project
